Therapeutic horseback riding offers individuals with physical, psychological, emotional and/or cognitive disabilities the unique opportunity to gain a sense of independence, become assertive and increase self-confidence.
Therapeutic riding lessons are planned with individual’s education, physical, psychological, social and recreational goals in mind.
Prospective participants who express interest in our therapeutic riding program are provided with information and the forms required for application. Once all forms are completed and returned to us, our experienced and licensed staff assesses the applicant's eligibility.
When an applicant is accepted in our program, therapeutic goals are established and progress is documented. Most participants have one 30 minute individual lesson or 45 minute group lesson each week for the length of the semester, with the majority of participants continuing their lessons from one semester to the next. A PATH Intl. certified instructor conducts each lesson using our indoor and outdoor arenas, lesson activities may include developing basic riding skills, exercises, games and riding our scenic trails.
